COVID 19 Virus – Update on Classes

As we are now becoming increasingly concerned of the impact the coronavirus is having on our lives, some of you are probably unsure what to do about your Tai Chi practice. The following may help you decide what you should do.

At Present

  • City of Canning which oversees Rossmoyne Hall has not given any directive to cease activities at its public halls at this time.
  • Therefore, classes will be continuing till the end of term unless otherwise advised.
  • If you are feeling unwell and have any symptoms – Stay Home and Self Isolate.
  • If you are concerned about being in a public space with others – Stay Home and Self Isolate.
  • If you are over 65 and have pre-existing chronic medical conditions – Stay Home and Self Isolate.
  • Space issues in our classes have restricted the ‘social distancing’ guidelines. However, as some participants have already chosen to stay at home, our classes have lesser people, thus now allowing more room between participants.
  • If you are still concerned about the social distancing in our classes – Stay Home and Self Isolate.
  • In our classes there is no physical contact between others and we do not share any equipment minimizing the risk of becoming contagious.
  • We now have a bottle of hand sanitizer available during the class, but it is better to bring your own to avoid communal sharing.
  • All doors will be opened during class for better ventilation.
  • If you are still unsure about attending class for any other reasons – Stay Home and Self Isolate.

Looking Ahead

  • There are now limited number of places for Term 2 registration.
  • If a shutdown of Rossmoyne Hall is ordered, classes will be suspended until further notice.
  • If you have already registered for Term 2 and a shutdown is in place, your term fees will be deferred until classes resume.
  • Outdoor classes will not be considered as an alternative if there is no access to the hall.
  • Please go to our YouTube channel and our other websites for alternative Tai Chi training online.
  • There may be a possibility of offering live streaming classes. More information will be available soon.

Staying Healthy

  • Be sure to follow all hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
  • Get plenty of rest.
  • Eat more healthy foods. Take the recommended daily dosage of Vitamin C.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Tai Chi is a holistic self-management exercise program that is known for improving the immune system.
  • Stay informed with the latest updates from the WA Health Department reports.
  • Be wary of misleading information coming from unreliable sources.
  • Be kind and considerate to each other.

Note: This information may change as new updates come in.
